Joanne Bou Jawad

Joanne Bou Jawad is the Digital VP (Lead) at one of the largest real estate and retail conglomerates in the region: Majid Al Futtaim (MAF). In her central role in MAF Holding, she leads Digital landscape across all business units ensuring the the highest standards of digital excellence in terms of omnichannel & digital experience. Moreover; Joanne oversees and leads the strategy and implementation of group-wide digital products across the business.

Prior to joining MAF, Joanne held the role of Chief Operating Officer of OpenSooq, the leading Arabic online classifieds platforms in MENA region. She oversaw operations, strategy and product development at OpenSooq, and was responsible of leading the teams to set and drive the vision and targets to achieve optimum user and revenue growth.

Joanne was also responsible for sourcing and implementing the corporate development initiatives out of the UAE for iMENA Group; a holding company operating online and mobile businesses for consumers and enterprises in MENA Markets.

Joanne also worked with Namshi.com, as the Head of Digital Strategy where she led initiatives such as on-site analytics, conversion optimization, product development, brand positioning and content strategy setting across sites, apps and marketing channels.

Before joining Namshi, Joanne was a Team Manager at Nokia Siemens Networks responsible for the Intelligent Networks of multiple telecom operators in MENA.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer and Communications Engineering from the American University of Beirut.
